intuVision VA Manufacturing extracts actionable data to increase operational efficiency, analyzing video from production floors, workshops and warehouses. By counting objects on production lines, tracking whereabouts of employees during their shifts, even determining bottlenecks – intuVision VA Manufacturing helps optimize efficiency of all work environments.
In today’s fast paced manufacturing environments, a stoppage at any point of a workflow can create bottlenecks which significantly impact overall productivity. intuVision VA’s real time alerts of line stoppages or employees not being present in their assigned positions allow quick interventions to resolve issues, without relying on employee reporting. Alerts can be sent directly to supervisors and floor managers when an incident or interruption is detected, for immediate action.
With intuVision VA manufacturing monitoring a wide range of manufacturing and warehouse environments, to gain insight into workplace efficiency, safety and security factors such as those listed below is now possible:
intuVision VA Manufacturing automates information flow across the factory, improving safety and streamlining operations. With seamless third-party integrations, critical data is delivered exactly where and when it’s needed. From automatically closing walkways when forklifts approach, to providing real-time equipment status, and alerts on machinery stoppage, teams work safer and more efficiently with intuVision VA Manufacturing.
intuVision VA Manufacturing counts items on production lines along the manufacturing phases to prevent loss and measure output volumes. During counts, a percentage of items can be flagged for random quality checks.
Using scheduled emails, the count reports are delivered to floor managers, or using intuVision VA’s data API and event ingestion tools, the item counts can be integrated into site management systems.
intuVision VA’s motion and dwell heatmaps are valuable tools help optimize manufacturing processes. Heatmaps provide at a glance visualization of movement paths as well as areas where employees linger or where carts and other equipment are left idle across the production floor over selected time periods.
Manufacturing floors include risks to employees, increasing the liability for the business. intuVision VA Manufacturing provides several safety/security related analytics to reduce these risks; including spill detection, to quickly be notified of and remove fluid spills to prevent falls and contamination, unsafe machine operation, such as employees getting too close to active machinery, or collision detection, sounding alarms when people and forklifts get dangerously close.

intuVision VA offers the unique capability to add as many events and event rules to each of your cameras - meaning that with the same camera you can track employees on the manufacturing floor, check for spills, and ensure machinery is running as expected.
| Event | Description |
|---|---|
| Activity | Detect people activity or parts activity on manufacturing lines |
| Coverage | Detect if a person is at their pos, generate coverage reports |
| Collision Prevention | Detect when people and machinery are close to collision, for prevention and tracking |
| Dwell | Detect when machines or conveyor belts have stopped |
| Fall Detection | Detect when someone has fallen or slipped to the floor |
| Forklift Detection/Tracking | Detect and track forklifts and other machinery, differentiating them from other objects in your environment |
| Left Object | Detect object left behind in an area |
| Loitering | Detect when people are standing in place for a set period of time |
| No Activity | Detect when there is no activity in a region for a set period of time |
| Object Counting | Count objects in your camera view, can be used with classification to count specific objects |
| Object Taken | Detect when a specific monitored object is removed |
| Random Selector | Flag customizable percentage of objects for quality control |
| Smoke/Fire Detection | Visually detect fire and smoke in camera views |
| Speed Detection | Detect speeding vehicles, machinery, or fast moving people |
| Spill Detection | Detect if liquid has spilled on the floor or region |
| Stopped Object | Detect when objects have stopped – i.e. a stopped manufacturing line |
| Unsafe Operation | Detect unsafe operation, for instance people reaching into moving machinery |
"By counting and comparing the numbers of dough balls, baked and packaged bread from conveyor belt cameras in real-time, the factory can pinpoint the problems during each production run." - Emil Filipovski, Managing Director, IntellModus
One of IntellModus’ customers, a large bread factory needed an automated and reliable loss-prevention solution to count the dough balls, baked loaves and packaged bread along each production line to increase the efficiency of their operations.
IntellModus came to intuVision for streamlining real-time product counts from conveyor belt cameras to generate reports for each production cycle. intuVision customized a counting solution to fit the factory requirements. The reports show the sources of loss for each production cycle in a timely fashion so that needed actions can be taken to improve efficiency.
About the integrator:
IntellModus designs and deploys video security, access control, fire safety systems and custom solutions for manufacturing plants. Using state-of–the-art technologies and products IntellModus delivers turn-key systems.
"Due to the asynchronous nature of the bread making process and the high speed of product moving on the conveyor belts, other counting solutions did not work well. We choose intuVision video analytics system to accurately count each phase of the production line and associate production cycles in reporting. Our camera system with intuVision Video Analytics detects where the production losses are and prevents them." - E. Filipovski
IntellModus analyzed the factory operations and established the solution requirements. Throughout the brad factory they installed over 90 cameras, three cameras per production line to monitor the conveyor belts for the dough balls, baked loaves and packaged bread. IntellModus worked with intuVision to determine the optimal positions for the cameras over the conveyor belts to reach accurate counts using video analytics
The system feeds live video from the cameras into intuVision Video Analytics to be analyzed in real-time to:
The production cycle item counts and losses at each step are detailed for every run, the reports are automatically e-mailed to responsible operations personnel for each shift. Being able to see these reports immediately helps operations managers to address the production problems and losses in a timely manner.
Using intuVision video analytics IntellModus delivered an automated loss-prevention solution for the bread factory. intuVision VA provides accurate counts of product at each stage of manufacturing process and provides custom reports summarizing production cycle’s throughput.
Monitoring and automatically detecting sources of loss during production significantly increased the operational efficiency of the factory.
